Abroma Augusta is one of the medicinal plants that was traditionally used in Indian Ayurveda as Ulat Kambal for various Menstrual problems. Although it is traditionally used in Ayurveda, its first use in modern medicine starts only after Dr. Roxburgh found its usefulness. For its growth, constant sunlight is needed throughout the day. It can be grown in evergreen forests because, in dense forest, sunlight does not reach them properly. Abroma Augusta is available in warm and rainfed areas of India such as Assam, Meghalaya, Khasi Hills, Uttarakhand and other parts of India. It is known with different names in different parts of the world.

There is widespread confusion among various homeopathic doctors that extracts of Abroma Augusta and Abroma radix come from different plants. But it’s not true. Actually, both come from the same plants. When we made an extract from leaves of its plant then we called it Abroma Augusta. And, when we made an extract from its root then it is known as Abroma radix. It was first included In homeopathy by Dr. D.N. Roy after proving its effectiveness.

Active Agents:

The root of the contains bromine (betaine), friedelin, abromasterol, abromasterol A, choline, beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol and Octacosanol and Leaves contain taraxerol and lapel.

Use in the women Menstrual problems:

Its roots are used in menstruation trouble. Normally in women, one menstrual cycle is completed in 28-29 days starting from the first day of menstruation till the next one. Some women experience menstrual problems like cycle either become longer or shorter. Abroma Augusta or ulat kambal roots are highly useful in these cases.

Dysmenorrhea:

It is an immense pain occur in women’s uterus during periods or menstruation cycle. Sometimes bleeding may occur. Abroma radix which is prepared from the Augusta roots helps to get relief from the pain and also help in stopping the bleeding and other menstrual problems.

When insulin production in the body is not enough to maintain blood sugar level, then we suffer from diabetes. 10 drops twice a day of Abroma Augusta helps to maintain blood sugar level. Secondary amenorrhea is defined as an absence of menstrual bleeding in the women who had the previous mensus. This must happen in the absence of pregnancy period and for 3 consecutive periods.
